Dan Carter's boot once again proved a trusty weapon as champions Racing 92 defeated Toulouse 28-14 in Top 14 on Sunday.

The New Zealand great kicked 13 of his side's points as Racing proved too strong in Paris.

Samuel Marques had kicked the visitors into an early lead, but Carter had twice split the posts himself by the time he converted Brice Dulin's opening try in 28th minute after Dorian Aldegheri had been sent to the bin for Toulouse.

Marques nailed two more three-pointers before half-time to ensure the difference was just four at the break.

However, Carter added another three points before converting Bernard Le Roux's score to stretch the gap once more and, although Sofiane Guitoune touched down for the away side late on, Racing had the final say when Juan Imhoff raced over.

Also on Sunday, Demetri Catrakilis kicked 17 points as Montpellier rebounded from last week's defeat to Clermont Auvergne by running out 32-15 winners at Bordeaux-Begles.

Jesse Mogg and Alexandre Dumoulin crossed for Montpellier, while Frans Steyn also contributed five points with the boot having earlier been sin-binned.
