David Willey and Jason Roy fined by ICC

England stars David Willey and Jason Roy have been fined by the ICC for their behaviour in Saturday's thrilling World Twenty20 win over Sri Lanka.

A 10-run victory was enough to secure England's spot in the semi-finals, despite captain Angelo Mathews' heroic unbeaten 73-run knock in Sri Lanka's ultimately unsuccessful run chase.

Sri Lanka had been 15-4 early in the innings, Willey removing opener Tilakaratne Dilshan in the opening over, before Milinda Siriwardana chipped the left-armer to Eoin Morgan in the covers.

Willey's send-off of Siriwardana, gesturing the batsman back to the Feroz Shah Kotla pavilion and using "obscene language", was enough for the ICC to fine him 15 per cent of his match fee.

Roy had made 42 runs off 39 balls at the top of the order, but was trapped lbw by wrist spinner Jeffrey Vandersay and reacted furiously, throwing his helmet and bat into the England dugout as he left the field.

The opener has been fined 30 per cent of his match fee for "showing dissent at an umpire's decision during an international match".

Both players admitted the offences and accepted the sanctions after the match.
