Umar Akmal has been recalled to the Pakistan Twenty20 squad for the upcoming three-match series against West Indies in the United Arab Emirates this month.

The wicketkeeper-batsman was omitted from a training camp in May for disciplinary reasons, but is in contention to make his international comeback against the world champions.

Umar, who has not played for his country since the World Twenty20 in India, has been rewarded for his fine form with the bat for Lahore Whites in the National T20 Cup.

Amad Butt missed out from the squad which was selected to face England, while Mohammad Irfan and Mohammad Hafeez are not included due to injuries.

Left-arm seamer Rumman Raees and all-rounder Saad Nasim are included in the 15-man squad.

Pakistan hammered England in a one-off T20 at Old Trafford on Wednesday and will attempt to build on that success in the first game against the Windies in Dubai on September 23.

Pakistan Squad: Sarfraz Ahmed (captain), Sharjeel Khan, Khalid Latif, Babar Azam, Mohammad Rizwan, Imad Wasim, Hasan Ali, Mohammad Amir, Wahab Riaz, Sohail Tanvir, Mohammad Nawaz, Shoaib Malik, Umar Akmal, Saad Nasim, Rumaan Raees.
