Yankees win with one hit, Correa leads Astros in MLB

The New York Yankees needed just one hit to win in MLB as the Houston Astros required 13 innings.

Starlin Castro's two-run homer in the seventh was the Yankees' only hit as they claimed a 2-1 win over the Tampa Bay Rays.

It was the first time the Yankees won with just one hit since July 10, 1914.

Carlos Correa blasted a pinch-hit, three-run homer in the 13th to see the Astros edge the Los Angeles Angels 8-6.

Ben Zobrist stretched his hitting streak to 15 games as the Chicago Cubs beat the Philadelphia Phillies 7-2, and the Kansas City Royals rallied past the Chicago White Sox 5-4.

A five-run second inning set up the Arizona Diamondbacks' 6-3 win over the San Diego Padres, and Miguel Sano homered in a fourth straight game as the Minnesota Twins edged the Seattle Mariners 5-4.

Clayton Kershaw struck out 10 as the Los Angeles Dodgers recorded a 4-2 win over the New York Mets.

The Oakland Athletics overcame the Detroit Tigers 4-2, the Pittsburgh Pirates went down to the Texas Rangers 6-2, and the Milwaukee Brewers fought past the Cincinnati Reds 5-4.

The Washington Nationals crushed the St Louis Cardinals 10-2, the Baltimore Orioles were 6-4 victors over the Cleveland Indians, and the Boston Red Sox beat the Toronto Blue Jays 5-3 through 11 innings.

The San Francisco Giants brushed past the Colorado Rockies 8-3, and the Miami Marlins were 7-3 winners against the Atlanta Braves.

RAMOS STEPS UP

Sunday was a pretty good day to be a National League catcher. Milwaukee's Jonathan Lucroy went two-for-two with a triple, walk and three RBIs, and Buster Posey had three hits in San Francisco's win. But the Nationals' Wilson Ramos turned in the best performance, going three-for-three with a home run, four RBIs and two runs scored. BAUTISTA GOES DEEP

BOGAERTS CONTINUES STREAK

Jackie Bradley Jr. may have seen his 29-game hit streak come to an end on Thursday, but his Boston Red Sox team-mate still has a lengthy streak intact. Xander Bogaerts extended his hit streak to 22 games by going one-for-six. METS HOST WHITE SOX

The White Sox will send left-hander Jose Quintana (5-4, 2.22 ERA) to the mound, as he looks to snap a personal three-game losing streak. The Mets will counter with their own struggling starter in Matt Harvey. Harvey is 3-7 with a 6.08 ERA, but one of his best career outings was a one-hitter against the White Sox in 2013.
