Medeama have had patchy start to the season as they have picked four points in four games while Liberty Professionals have amassed seven points in five games.
But irrespective of their respective forms, the FA Cup comes with a different story and after Sunday one Premier League club will be eliminated from the competition.
At the Accra Sports Stadium, in-form Hearts of Oak will host second-tier side Wassaman. The Wassa based club have been very impressive in the ongoing second-tier league as they currently lead zone two.
But they will face the Phobians who are currently the best team in Ghana this season. Hearts of Oak leads the Ghana Premier League with 13 points after five games.
The Accra giants are leaving no stone unturned as they want to replicate their rich form in the FA Cup and their target is to end their 15 years FA Cup drought.
The last time a second-tier side eliminated the Phobians from the FA Cup competition was three seasons ago when they lost 2-1 to Gold Stars at Bibiani.
Asante Kotoko will trek to the Sunyani Coronation Park to battle third-tier side A.K Shion. The Porcupine Warriors have endured a difficult start to the season. Their only win in the Ghana Premier League came last weekend when they labored to beat Hasaacas 1-0 in Kumai.
For the past five seasons, Kotoko have been one of the successful clubs in the FA Cup, playing in four finals and winning one trophy in the process.
The nine times FA Cup champions will definitely use A.K Shion clash as preparation for their next weekend Ghana Premier League against Aduana Stars at Dormaa.
There will be a Brong Ahafo derby between Techiman City and Aduana Stars at the Techiman City. The two teams have already met in the Ghana Premier League which the Techiman basedclub reigned supreme over Aduana Stars, beating the Dormaa based club 1-0.
It will be the best moment for Aduana Stars to seek for revenge but they have to play above themselves before achieving that feat due to the impregnable home record of Techiman City.
