Kotoko demote Michael Osei to youth team

The Porcupine Warriors have issued an official statement that they have rather demoted Michael Osei to their junior team instead of earlier sack reports

Michael Osei, who was the assistant coach of the Porcupine Warriors last season was named as the acting coach of the 23 times champions of Ghana, after the sack of David Duncan land propelled the team to a 5th place finish.

He was expecting to be confirmed as head coach by the new management of the club headed by Dr. Kwame Kyei.

However, Zdravko Lugarusic was offered the job as the head coach and there were reports that Osei was disappointed with that decision.

There were earlier reports that Kotoko had parted ways with Michael Osei, however, the club has come out that they have rather demoted their assistant coach to their youth team.

"Coach Michael Osei has been moved to the Youth Team of Kotoko in accordance with clause 3 (2) of his employment contract with the club. The decision was taken by Management on Monday, January 23, 2017.

"Michael Osei until this decision was an Assistant Coach at the senior team. A letter titled: “RE-ASSIGNMENT AS TECHNICAL DIRECTOR – YOUTH TEAM and signed by Administrative Manager, Rose Padmore Yeboah, said Management expects the coach to use his “Rich experience to help develop the talents of the youth team.

"The letter further asked for Michael Osei’s cooperation,"
