Wayde van Niekerk surprised with brand new Audi R8

Wayde van Niekerk broke legendary runner Michael Johnson's record and Audi South Africa recognise the feat. A sweet new Audi R8. Ride on Wayde.

The sprinter broke the 400m world record on his way to winning gold at the Olympic Games.

The 24-year-old who was trained by his great grandmother reduced legendary runner Michael Johnson’s time of 43.19 seconds for the 400m race to 43.03.

That was a proud moment for South Africa and Wayde van Niekerk.

Fast forward to the OR Tambo International Airport on September 7, 2016, Wayde van Niekerk was surprised with a brand new Audi R8 by Audi South Africa.

The keys to the car was presented to the South African gold medallist and he just could not believe it.

Surprise!!!

You won gold, you broke a record and we appreciate it.
