Kobe Bryant received numerous tributes during his farewell tour, but nothing like the one he received in Los Angeles on Wednesday.

The retiring Lakers star was given a Hollywood-style send-off ahead of his 1,346th and final NBA game against the Utah Jazz.

Bryant - a five-time NBA champion - watched with a broad smile across his face as Magic Johnson called him the "the greatest to wear the purple and gold."

The pre-game tribute included several video montages mixed with highlights and commentary from basketball royalty.

"It was fun playing with you. It was fun playing against you," former Lakers team-mate Shaquille O'Neal told Bryant.

The video tribute included fellow NBA stars Kevin Garnett, Kevin Durant and Dwyane Wade, as well as former team-mates Derek Fisher, Paul Gasol and Lamar Odom.

And, of course, there was Lakers super fan Jack Nicholson to tie it all together.

"I may retire with you," the movie star joked from the jumbotron.
