India must make do without Ambati Rayudu for the rest of their tour of Zimbabwe after he was ruled out with an injury to his quadriceps.

The batsman has been in good form for India during the first two contests of their three-match one-day international series.

He made a match-winning century to edge India to a narrow four-run win in the first encounter, before making a valuable 41 in Sunday's 62-run victory.

However, Rayudu will miss the third and final ODI on Tuesday, as well as the two Twenty20 internationals later this week.

"The BCCI medical team confirms that Ambati Rayudu has been ruled out of the remaining part of the India's tour of Zimbabwe due to an injury he has sustained while playing the 2nd ODI," a statement from the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) read.

"Rayudu has pulled his right quadriceps muscles and will require two to three weeks of rehabilitation."

Sanju Samson has been called up as a replacement.
