Ferrari Vettel prepared for long day in Singapore

After problems with his Ferrari during qualifying, Sebastian Vettel hopes his fortunes change during the Singapore Grand Prix.

Sebastian Vettel knows he is in for a tough race at the Singapore Grand Prix after a disastrous qualifying session left the Ferrari driver last on the grid.

Vettel has won four out of the last five races under the lights of the Marina Bay Street Circuit but a fifth success looks unlikely after encountering a problem with his anti-roll bar during Q1.

So bad was the problem the German took some corners on three wheels and the problem left him with the slowest time of the opening session.

The exact nature of the problem remains unclear according to Vettel, but he hopes his fortunes could change on Sunday - maybe with the help of a few safety cars.

"On the first lap, going into turn one, something happened," he said. "Then in turn two, through turn five, I felt that the car was not the same.

"So far we don't really know what happened, initially I thought it was at the front, but then it felt like the rear bar had broken. I hadn't felt anything wrong in FP3.

"For tomorrow we have a long race in front of us, with a lot of safety cars. At least we have some new tyres, and even if it is not an ideal situation we can still have a good race."
