Terminally ill Ghanaian boy granted Lewis Hamilton wish

Nathan Ampofo-Anim, who has sickle cell anaemia met hero Lewis Hamilton and he loved it.

However, for now, he will relish every moment and chance he has to meet his hero.

Nathan Ampofo-Anim who is a Motorsport fanatic was given his wish by the Starlight Children’s Foundation, a national charity that grants once-in-a-lifetime experiences for seriously and terminally ill children.

Nathan has sickle cell anaemia, an incurable blood disorder and his wish was to watch the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix.

Lewis Hamilton made Nathan’s wish one to remember forever. Lewis did not only meet and greet Nathan Ampofo-Anim but also allowed the Ghanaian kid to sit in the driver’s Mercedes car before the title-deciding race.

A very appreciative Nathan said of the experience:

“I was already really excited to be in Abu Dhabi for the race weekend, but being invited into the Mercedes garage and meeting Lewis Hamilton today was the best day of my life.

“He is my hero and I hope I will be a successful driver like him one day.”
