Hearts of Oak and Bechem United settled for a pulsating goalless drawn game in a pre-season friendly at the Accra Sports Stadium on Sunday.

Both teams used the game as part of their preparations ahead of the 2017 Ghana Premier League which has been billed to start on February 4.

Though it was a friendly game but the two teams exerted a lot of energy in the first stanza of the game but Bechem United were the better  side as compared to Hearts of Oak.

Amed Toure leading the attacking machinery for the 2016 FA Cup champions came close to putting his name on the score sheet but Ben Mensah in post for the Accra gaints saved the situation for his side.

The Phobians had their moment in the game but Cosmos Dauda was wasteful upfront.

Hearts of Oak upped their performance in the second half – piling pressure on Bechem United but getting the ball at the back of the net was their problem.

The Hunters soaked the pressure and took total control of the game, as the Phobians were left chasing shadows. Despite Hearts of Oak shambolic play Bechem United couldn’t punish them as the game ended 0-0.

Hearts of Oak start xi – Ben Mensah, Anthony Nimo, Robin Gnange, Joshua Otoo, Vincent Atinga, Malik Akowua, Samudeen Ibrahim, Patrick Razak, Isaac Mensah, Thomas Abbey, Cosmos Dauda.

Bechem United staring xi- Isaac Akrong, Alfred Nelson, Daniel Agyin, Solomon Mensah, Hamza Mohammed, Hagi Saddick Abubakar, Asante Agyemang, Yaw Anol, Nana Antwi, Kwesi Acheampong.
