We took a look at the most tantalizing weekend fixtures from across Europe, and put together a list of Ghanaian players who we think need to be watched closely.

Baba Rahman

Chelsea travel to MK Dons on Sunday in what should really be an easy win for the Blues, although this season, anything is possible with the Blues. New coach Guus Hiddink has steadied the ship by brining John Obi Mikel into the fold to make their midfield less penetrable. One would expect him to start again as he hardly needs a breather. It would also be interesting to see if Baba Rahman gets a run out – he is dying for more game-time.

Kevin-Prince Boateng

The Milan derby takes place on Sunday evening, and Boateng will be desperate to get a run out. He has been consigned to a bit-part role since returning to the Rossoneri, but will know that a big performance against the eternal rival will convince the critics that his return was the right decision.

Christian Atsu

Atsu could be in the starting berth as his Malaga side travel to face Eibar on Saturday. The Ghana international has been training with the side since arriving on Monday on loan from Chelsea. Atsu has vowed to work hard to earn regular playing time after struggling on similar spells at Everton and Bournemouth.

Jordan Ayew

Aston Villa have been on something of an unbeaten run of late, having avoided the all too familiar defeats in their last five matches. The odds suggest that's going to change against Manchester City in the FA Cup this weekend and, with few tipping the Villains' chances, it remains to be seen whether Remi Garde will play Jordan or rest his star man ahead of the upcoming Premier League meeting with West Ham.

Mubarak Wakaso

Las Palmas take on Celta Vigo in La Liga on Sunday, as they continue their fight to beat the drop in the Spanish top division. Las Palmas are fighting relegation, and it will be games like this that test how strong Wakaso’s side really is. The Ghanaian has been in fine form lately. He played and even picked up a booking on the 89 minute as his side fell to a disappointing 3-2 defeat to Levante.
