Ex-Ghana defender talks about Ayew and Baba

Samuel Osei Kuffour has expressed his delight to see Andre Ayew and Baba Rahman play in the major European Leagues.

Former Black Stars and Bayern Munich defender, Samuel Osei Kuffour is impressed with the progression of Andre Ayew and Baba Rahman.

Andre Ayew joined West Ham from Swansea City on a £20.5 club record fee, while Baba Rahman, who moved to Chelsea last season from Augsburg in Bundesliga has returned to the German top-flight League with Schalke 04.

The 2001 UEFA Champions League winning player with Bayern Munich has lauded the progression of the two Ghana internationals

“It is good; we couldn’t see African players move to the big Leagues at our time but is good we are seeing them moving to some of the top Leagues,” he told Citi FM.

“When you have Dede Ayew move from Swansea City to West Ham then it tells you that in football you need to start from a low profile and get to the top.

“Baba Rahman started with Greuther Furth, went to Augsburg, Chelsea and back to Germany to join Schalke], I don’t think is bad.”
