Afriyie Acquah has shown support to sulley Ali Muntari after he was handed a one-year ban for walking off the field following racial abuse while playing for Pescara.

Pescara midfielder Muntari, 32, was banned after he protested against racist abuse he received from the crowd during Sunday's Serie A match at Cagliari, which earned him a yellow card for dissent before he walked off.

Italy's football chiefs were branded "gutless" by anti-discrimination organisation Kick It Out.

The action taken against Muntari has attracted several criticisms from both international bodies and individual footballers like Kevin-Prince Boateng, Emmanuel Agyemang Badu and Afriyie Acquah is the latest in the growing support for former Inter Milan and AC Milan midfielder.
