The Ghanaian midfielder hit a scorcher in the 57th minute from outside the area that flew past an out-stretched Skorupski to extend Sassuolo's lead in the game.

Alfred Duncan registered his first 2016/17 Serie A goal for Sassuolo in their 3-1 away win at Empoli on Sunday afternoon.

The Neroverdi had numerous absentees and little to genuinely play for, but broke through at the Stadio Castellani with Federico Peluso and a lucky ricochet.

Manuel Pucciarelli converted a penalty to equalise, but Alessandro Matri on a Domenico Berardi assist and Alfred Duncan’s strike from distance made the difference.

Empoli are now only four points clear of Crotone in the drop zone.
