Ex-Black Stars skipper: Ghana is under-performing under Grant

Stephen Appiah has scored Grant below average, since he took over the Black Stars job

The 61-year-old Israeli coach has been in charge of 23 games, winning 11, drawing 8 and losing 4, but has failed to win any of the past five games under his watch as Black Stars boss.

The worst of it all was the 0-2 defeat the Black Stars suffered in Alexandria against Egypt in the 2018 FIFA World Cup- a results which has left them five points behind the Pharaohs.

Grant has come under much criticisms after the loss and Appiah also share in the sentiment of the many Ghanaians who believe the former Chelsea boss has done nothing to improve upon the quality of play of the Black Stars

“I think the team has under performed since Grant took over, comparing to our time and even the last few years I think the team has lost their momentum,” he told Accra-based Asempa FM.

“I just hope a thing gets right for them to recover because for now it is clear most Ghanaians are not happy with the performance of the team.”
