Johanna Konta compared herself to Jason Bourne as Lleyton Hewitt was praised in an unusual manner at the Australian Open on Wednesday.

FEMALE JASON BOURNE

Born in Australia, representing Great Britain and holding a Hungarian passport – that is quite the mix for Australian Open semi-finalist Johanna Konta.

And the 24-year-old compared herself to the Matt Damon-played character, Jason Bourne.

"Actually I am a tri-citizen. I've got a Hungarian passport as well. Just add that into the mix, guys," Konta said after her win over Zhang Shuai.

"I mean, I'm pretty much the female version of Jason Bourne."

LLEYTON WOULDN'T LET HIS MUM WIN A POINT

Hewitt rubbished suggestions he was involved in match-fixing in the wake of the BBC and BuzzFeed News investigation.

ATP chairman Chris Kermode was supportive of the retired Australian on Wednesday.

Facing the media after announcing a review into the sport's anti-corruption program, Kermode defended Hewitt and drew some media laughs.

"Lleyton Hewitt, as we all know, is one of the greatest competitors of all time," he said.

"I'm not sure he'd give his mother one point when he was playing."

KYRGIOS THE FAN

Controversial Australian star Nick Kyrgios was on hand to support countryman Dylan Alcott in the quad wheelchair singles.

Kyrgios watched on as Alcott beat Andrew Lapthorne 6-0 6-4 on court six.

STOSUR'S ZHANG SUPPORT

Australian Open quarter-finalist Zhang revealed the support she has received from local Sam Stosur after her exit at Melbourne Park.

Zhang suffered a straight-sets loss to Konta in the last eight after a dream run.

"She's helped me a lot in my life, in these few years," she said of Stosur.

"A few years ago she was a top player, and we have one time practice together in Charleston; also we played doubles in Osaka.

"We played in the final three years ago. We practice sometimes together. We eat dinner together.

"She gave me a lot of help. Trying to help me go up. She's a very great player. I wish she can win one more grand slam. I hope she can come back."
