The Spaniard recovered from a second-set blip to record an otherwise dominant 6-0 2-6 6-0 victory in the decider in Seoul on Sunday, ending her long wait for a Tour success.

It marked her second career WTA title and first since February 2012, when she claimed the crown in Bogota.

For Niculescu, she remains without a title since her success in Guangzhou in September 2014.

After a lengthy opening two games, Arruabarrena ran away with the opening set thanks to three breaks of serve.

Niculescu steadied in the second, however, a break for 3-1 setting her up to level the match.

Arruabarrena broke twice to start the deciding set and she cruised from then on.
