A trip to Five Guys may have helped Anastasija Sevastova into the US Open fourth round, while Madison Keys' grand slam form continued

Burgers could be to credit for the continuation of Anastasija Sevastova's flawless US Open, while Madison Keys escaped a shock defeat to 18-year-old Naomi Osaka.

Sevastova made light work of defeating Kateryna Bondarenko 6-4 6-1 and is still yet to drop a set in New York, form Keys would love to tap into after coming summoning all her resilience to beat Osaka 7-6 6-4 7-6 (7-3).

Seventh seed and 2015 runner-up Roberta Vinci defeated Carina Witthoft 6-0 5-7 6-3 and Johanna Konta, who collapsed during her second round victory over Tsvetana Pironkova, coasted past Belinda Bencic 6-2 6-1.

Caroline Wozniacki and Petra Kvitova overcame Monica Niculescu and Elina Svitolina respectively, but Dominika Cibulkova crashed out to Lesia Tsurenko 3-6 6-3 6-4.

Is there a better way to celebrate than with a burger?

Probably not for Sevastova, who admitted she was thinking of making a trip to Five Guys to revel in her victory over French Open champion Garbine Muguruza in the second round.

The Latvian is clearly relishing her time at the US Open, and she rolled into the fourth round by dispatching of Bondarenko in just 66 minutes.

WOZNIACKI BREAKS NEW GROUND

In defeating Niculescu 6-3 6-1 in the third round, former world number one Wozniacki surpassed her previous best performance at a grand slam.

The Dane is unconcerned by her slip to 74th in the rankings, with confidence in her own ability of more importance.

Wozniacki said: "In the end of the day, whether I'm 70 or 30 in the world, it really doesn't matter. If I'm not top 10 or seeded every tournament, it really doesn't matter.

"I can beat anyone on a good day and people can beat me if they play really well. But I just believe in myself right now, and hopefully I can do well here first."

KEYS CONTINUES 2016 SUCCESS

It could have been a very different week on the horizon for Keys as she slipped 5-1 behind in the third set against 18-year-old Osaka.

However, the eighth seed rallied back to claim the win in a third-set tie-break and become the first woman to reach the fourth round of every grand slam this year.

In 2015, Serena Williams was the only women's player to achieve that.
