Valencia show transfer interest in Ghanaian midfielder

Gary Neville's Valencia are looking to sign Ghana international and Atletico Madrid player Thomas Teye Partey

Ghana international Thomas Teye Partey has emerged as a transfer interest for Spanish La Liga side Valencia according to reports in Spain.

Super Deporte reports Valencia director Jesus Garcia Pitarch travelled to Madrid to meet with the Ghanaian player’s agent in a bid to strike a deal for a possible transfer this window.

The director also attended Atletico Marid’s Copa del Rey game to monitor Partey but the Ghanaian was not involed as his Madrid side lost to Celta Vigo in the quarter-finals.

Jesus Garcia Pitarch is determined to strengthen the Valencia squad for former Manchester United player Gary Neville but Atletico Madrid boss Diego Simeone is serious on keeping the 22-year-old Ghanaian.

Valencia will however be good with a loan deal for Thomas Partey who is being monitored by the Ghana Football Association for a call-up to the senior national team, the Black Stars.

Gary Neville’s team are also in the market for a central defender and have targeted Napoli’s Spanish player Raul Albiol. Jeremy Toulalan and Nicholas N’Koulo are also back up targets should a deal for their key players fall through.
