Kotoko fire Hans Dieter Schmidt over defeat to Hearts

Exactly 11 years today the German's appointment as coach of the Porcupine Warriors was terminated, following their defeat to Hearts of Oak.

On 13th January, 2005, the management of Kumasi Asante Kotoko dismissed coach, Hans Dieter Schmidt.

Schmidt was fired for alleged insubordination, misconduct and lack of co-operation with the management of the club.

Dieter Schmidt had earlier dismissed claims that he would be relieved off his post after a disappointing loss in the finals of the maiden CAF Confederation Cup to archrivals Accra Hearts of Oak.

Meanwhile, the Board of Directors of Asante Kotoko has directed the management of the club to put in place a stand-in coach to handle the technical affairs of the club.
