Unhappy English fans protest by throwing 'PIGS' onto pitch

When Charlton Athletic’s official Twitter account reported, somewhat casually, that in the first minute of their side’s game against Coventry pigs were on the pitch, there was unsurprisingly intrigue from all on social media.

Then came the video evidence of both sets of fans hurling plastic toy pigs onto the pitch in protest at their respective clubs’ owners:

The match had to be delayed as the pigs were removed from the pitch, with the fans having made themselves heard in the form of toy throwing.
