Football stars ready for 'Peace Match'

The Vodafone-sponsored match, put together by Primeval Media Consult, is expected to be replicated with a clash between the world team against the 2006 Black Stars World Cup team at the Accra Stadium on Saturday.

All the former international world-class players are expected to arrive in the country on Tuesday evening ahead of tomorrow’s Stephen Appiah-led world XI international match against Kumasi Asante Kotoko at the Baba Yara Stadium.

The players include former England international and Arsenal defender Sol Campbell, Dutchman,former Dutch and Juventus winger Edgar Davis, Dutchman of Ghanaian decent, George Boateng and Cameroonian international Alex Song.

The rest who will also land in Ghana are Dwight Yorke, Jemain Defoe, William Gallas, Emile Heskey, Jay Jay Okocha, Nwankwo Kanu, Emmanuel Adebayor, and Michael Essien.

George Boateng posted on Twitterwith the caption: "Ready for Ghana for the Vodafone Unity match."

Former Black Stars captain Stephen Appiah will lead the international stars in a World XI side to play Asante Kotoko on Wednesday at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium.

The Vodafone-sponsored match, put together by Primeval Media Consult, is expected to be replicated with a clash between the world team against the 2006 Black Stars World Cup team at the Accra Stadium on Saturday.

It is an initiative of Peace Ambassador Stephen Appiah to canvass for peace and unity among Ghanaians towards the 2016 general elections.
