Sports Minister has no power scrap management bonuses

"That decision to pay honorarium to management came from cabinet and not the Ghana FA and so when the minister indicated he was going to cancel it I was perturbed" - Wilfred Osei Palmer

Management members of the various national teams were paid bonuses, but the Member of Parliament for Odododiodio Constituency who was named the successor of Dr. Mustapha Ahmed at the Ministry in February this year, told them to "convince" him to pay bonuses after every national assignment which ends in a victory.

Osei Palmer, deputy Black Stars Management Committee chairman, is adamant that the Minister has no power to scrap their bonuses.

“That decision to pay honorarium to management came from cabinet and not the Ghana FA and so when the minister indicated he was going to cancel it I was perturbed," the Tema Youth owner said in an interview with Starr FM.

He added that Nii Lantey Vanderpuye made the comments on a political platform because his threats has come to naught as the Ministry still pay them bonuses.

"This is because when cabinet takes decision it takes another cabinet to cancel it. Maybe he was on a political platform to say this because it is very interesting to note that the ministry is still paying,” he revealed.
