Emmanuel Tagoe, Mzonke Fana make weight for IBO title clash on Friday

Ghanaian boxer and South Africa’S Mzonke Fana both made their weights for the upcoming vacant IBO lightweight on Friday at the Bukom Boxing Arena.

The upcoming card is promoted by BabyJet Promotions, a promotional outfit owned by Black Stars captain Asamoah Gyan.

The weigh-in came off on Thursday at the Press Room of Bukom Boxing Arena, Fana who weighed first tipped the scales at 134Ibs while Tagoe came in at 130Ibs.

“I want to call on all the boxing fans in Ghana to be present at the Arena on Friday,” Fana said after the weigh-in. “I’m not in Ghana to joke, I’m here for business and I will make sure that I take this title back to South Africa.

"I’m not intimated with the home advantage of Tagoe, my mission here is to win and I will do that by all means.”

But Tagoe was unpertubed with Fana’s harsh words – promising to stop the South African in round three.

“He can brag but I will punish him in the ring, my supporters are calling for round three. Three is my favorite number and I will do what my fans tells me,” said Tagoe.

“In Friday’s fight whether Fana like it or not I will finish him in round three, so he should be ready for me because I will defend my national flag.”
