The royal couple and their children - 2-year old Prince George and 10-month-old Princess Charlotte, headed to a secret location in the French Alps for the children's very first ski holiday.

It's that time of the year when the rich and famous of the West head off to the Alps for skiing holidays and the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge weren't left out the fun.

The royal couple and their children - 2-year old Prince George and 10-month-old Princess Charlotte, headed to a secret location in the French Alps for the children's very first ski holiday.

Unlike is the practice however, the young royal couple kept their trip completely hidden from the press till their return from the trip.

The couple, shunning the usual practice of taking a group of photographers to capture the family vacation moments, invited only a single Press Association photographer, who took a small number of posed portraits.

Upon their return, the couple released 6 carefully selected photographs to the press this morning.
