A few years past, advanced economies, mostly Europeans, were the most-favored tourist destination by far. However, in recent time, emerging economies seem to be playing a dominant role in the game or global tourism.
The reports project this timeline to 2020 as developing countries are already holding about 40% of total tourist arrival and almost 50% of all tourist spend is in these countries.
International tourism growth was relatively stagnate year-over-year in places like France while Mexico’s growth experienced acceleration.
