There’s a new doll from American Girl and people are freaking out about it

The toy company just made waves Tuesday with the debut of their first boy doll.

New American Girl doll named Logan

American Girl, the toy company whose dolls appeared on all of your chidlhood gift wish lists, just made waves Tuesday with the debut of their first boy doll.

Dubbed Logan Everett, the latest doll comes with his own backstory (which, let’s be real, is half the reason we loved AG growing up).

The sandy-haired doll is a drummer who plays along with his singer-songwriter doll friend Tenny Grant in Nashville. Cue some mid-aughts T. Swift nostalgia.

As the first 18-inch official boy doll (the company has previously offered male dolls as part of the Bitty Baby twin sets), Logan is a historic doll in American Girl’s arsenal, which has been given major props for offering a diverse range of dolls and striving to provide girls with healthy role models.

Julie Parks, director of public relations at American Girl, told The Huffington Post that adding a boy doll has been "a number one request" for a long time.

That’s not to say it’s all smooth sailing. Logan has gotten some shade on Twitter from people criticizing his too-cool-for-school, bro-y appearance.

According to a report from Bustle, this is the first of many inclusive announcements we’ll be seeing from the American Girl family this year. Also up for release this year is Z Yang, a Korean doll, and Nanea, a WWII-era Hawaiian doll.

Logan and his pal Tenny drop on February 16. No shame if you want to take a stroll through the American Girl store to seem him - you know, for nostalgia’s sake.
