The campaign is expected to benefit about 100,000 farmers in the region. The Minister disclosed this at the launch of the District Technical Committees for the campaign.

The committees are made up of representatives from the Ministry of Food and Agriculture, District Co-coordinating directors, planning officers and farmers.

The minister also reassured the famers that government would prevent any incidence of post-harvest losses by providing every district with storage facilities.

Mr. Asomah-Cheremeh encouraged unemployed youth to engage in farming activities as measures being put in place by government to increase production would make farming more lucrative.

He also reiterated the various roles individual members of the committees were to play and urged the public to support them.

The Dormaa Central Municipal Coordinating Director, Mr. Godwin Dzansi expressed his appreciation on behalf of the committees to the regional minister for believing in them, and pledged to see the successful execution of their mandate.
