I kissed DKB to trend - Akuapem Poloo finally confesses

Speaking during a recent interview on Kingdom FM, the Ghanaian actress admitted that she kissed DKB for fame. According to her, the kiss was nothing more than a ploy to generate buzz on social media in order to help DKB promote his show.

“I have kissed DKB before but we kissed at JoyPrime. It was for a trend; he was there to promote his show. DKB and I can do a lot for trends. That is between us,” Akuapem Poloo said.

After her confession, Akuapem Poloo firmly insisted that DKB has never asked her out, and she does not even know where he lives.

Speaking on her recent conversion to Islam, she says her new faith has made it impossible for her to engage in such acts to seek attention.

Speaking on why she became an attention seeker, Poloo once said “this is because the energy I use to advertise is so dramatic, it gets people’s attention on the product and people buy it.” Admitting to staging publicity stunts, she said 'I have indulged in social media acts that were all planned to achieve a certain goal at the time'.

Akuapem Poloo adds that she is the sole breadwinner and caretaker of her family, hence, she is determined to do anything to sustain her popularity which in turn brings in money.

“I need the attention. I need it, it helps. The more I trend the more my market boost, if I draw back on that it is going to worry me a lot. Whatever I do puts food on my table, that of my son and my mum,” she said.

Talking about her family, she said “I am the only child, I have a lot of responsibilities so I need to work hard. Work hard as in not stealing, or doing bad things to get money, but I am just fooling on social media to get food to eat and to make my family look good and make my son look happy".

In 2021, Akuapem Poloo was jailed for posting a nude photo with her son. However, after a few days in jail, she appealed her 90-day sentencing and she was rather fined and released.
