Celebrated Nigerian veteran actor John Okafor popularly known for playing Mr Ibu has revealed that people always view him as a stupid and unwise individual due to the movies roles he’s been starring in.

John is a very notable face in both Nigerian as well as Ghanaian screens. His witty delivery of satirical, funny lines and having the ability to bring his very comedic character to life has made him a household name in West Africa.

The actor has expressed concern about the way he is perceived saying that even when he has something meaningful to contribute people do not take him into consideration.

He told Punch, “A lot of people think I’m stupid and foolish because of the roles I play in movies.

“At times, when I have something meaningful to say, people don’t take me serious as they think I’m cracking jokes.’’
