Information reaching Pulse.com.gh indicates that flagbearer of the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP), Nana Akufo-Addo is returning to Ghana from his trip in Germany due to the death of the party’s Upper East Regional chairman, Mahama Adams.
The Upper East Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Mahama Adams was attacked with acid on Wednesday evening and was confirmed at the Bolgatanga Regional Hospital on Thursday.
Pulse.com.gh sources say the 2016 presidential candidate of the New Patriotic Party has had to cut short his 4 day work visit in Germany to attend to this unfortunate incident in Ghana. He is expected in Ghana by Saturday.
Meanwhile the police in the region have arrested one of the suspects. The Upper East Regional Police Public Relations Officer (PRO), Thomas Agbanyo confirmed the arrest to the media. The Police are however withholding the name of the person arrested for security reasons until his accomplice is also arrested.
Mr. Adams untimely incident occurred whiles he was returning from work on Wednesday evening.
