Asamaoh Gyan sustained an injury on Saturday while playing for his Chinese club Shanghai SIPG.
The Black Stars captain had to be replaced in the 18 minute of the game after appearing to have aggravated a knock on his knee which he had not fully recovered from going into the game against Guangzhou.

The game did not prove to be as Shanghai SIPG expected as they were overtaken at the top of the Chinese Super League after a 3-0 home defeat.
Asamoah Gyan will undergo further tests to reveal the severity of the injury that caused his substitution.

The Ghana international got injured ahead of the Black Stars’ 2017 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying game against Rwanda and did not play a part in the 1-0 victory for the senior national team of Ghana.
