In what showed to be a strong Chelsea line-up for the game, Black Stars defender Baba Rahman was handed a start at left-back partnering captain of the side John Terry, Papy Djilobodji and Branislav Ivanovic at the back of defence.
Chelsea also had John Obi Mikel, Willian who had a great season in the last one, Nemanja Matic and Diego Costa in the starting line-up.
The Blues were however stunned as hosts Rapid Wien scored twice without reply to win the game by two goals to nil.
