Hundreds of NDC members were attacked on Sunday near the house of the NPP's presidential candidate, Nana Akufo-Addo.

It is however unclear what triggered the clashes but according to reports, both sides confirmed gunshots and hurling of harmful objects.

Sources said the attack was led by ex-convict Ako Gunn. Ako Gunn was released by President Mahama last month after the Supreme Court had jailed him and two others for threatening the Chief Justice with rape and death.

The NDC embarked on a health walk and it was alleged that the personal security of the Nana Addo fired multiple shots at the NDC members.

It took the intervention of the Nima Police to restore calm. They have also started investigating the matter.
