Growth rate for the first quarter of 2016 was 4.8 percent, according to figures released by the statistical service department.

"The economy is growing but not at the same rate as the first quarter, when it was 4.8 percent," head of Ghana Statistical Service Philomena Nyarko said Wednesday.

The slow growth was fueled by halt in oil production due to technical fault on the turret bearing on the FPSO Kwame Nkrumah.
