Judicial service workers declare indefinite strike

 
 
Their decision follows a one month ultimatum given to government at the beginning to ensure their demands were met.

The Judicial Service Staff Association of Ghana (JUSAG) has declared an indefinite strike over the failure of government to implement the consolidation of their salaries beginning the 1st of April 2016.

According to the President of JUSAG who announced the action to members of his union, as a measure to forestall frequent industrial action which has hit the judiciary in the last few months, JUSAG petitioned the judicial council for a new salary structure, which was approved and forwarded to government for implementation.

He further stated  after several months of waiting government has failed to implement the consolidation of their salaries hence their decision.

The judicial service workers in  the past months have embarked on a number  of strikes with the last being in May last year, where they laid down their tools to protest the non-payment of their allowances among others.
