Managing Director in BNI grips over pictures of NDC-branded vehicles
The Managing Director and security officers of a quarry firm called Granite and Marble located on the Spintex Road in Accra, have been arrested by the Bureau of National Investigations (BNI) for allegedly taking pictures of some vehicles which were being branded with NDC colours for National Commission for Civic Education (NCCE).
Lawyers for the MD, Dr. Edmund Ayo Ani confirmed on Multi TV’s Newsfile programme that their client was, indeed, picked up by the BNI on Friday April 1.
According to them, their client, Dr. Ani is not responsible for leaking the pictures of the said vehicles on social media.
The vehicles, 50 Mahindra 4x4 vehicles were being rebranded at a mechanic shop near the MD's office on the Spintex road.
Some Ghanaians have already began accusing the ruling government of abusing its incumbency and using state resources to procure the vehicles for campaign purposes ahead of the November polls.
Lawyers of the MD said their client was picked up by the BNI after he refused to complete a standard bio data form  as demanded by the Police, who initially interrogated him over the matter.
