The governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) has indicated that it will investigate the circumstances under which a meeting organised by the Gender Minister was disrupted by the party’s Northern regional chairman, Daniel Bugri Naabu.
John Boadu, the Acting General Secretary of the party, said the NPP will call Bugri Naabu for his side of the story after Otiko Afisa Djaba formally informs the party hierarchy about the incident.
The Minister subsequently in an interview accused Mr. Bugri Naabu of collecting money, goats, cows and other things from people with the assurance of jobs with the National School Feeding Programme.
But in an interview on Accra-based Joy FM, Mr John Boadu who is also national Organiser of the NPP indicated that the allegations by Ms. Otiko have no connection with jobs in the School Feeding Programme.
“I don’t think the accusation is about school feeding programme…it was in reference to the appointment of MMDCEs," he said, adding that “Even with that [appointment of MMDCEs], the president made it clear that he was going to consult [stakeholders] before selecting the appointees.”
Meanwhile, Bugri Naabu has threatened to sue Ms Otiko Djaba for accusing him of taking a bribe.
