Dr. Bawumia's presentation was in fulfillment of the promise he made last week to provide desks to the pupils following media reports which highlighted the deplorable conditions under which the pupils in the school were studying.

However, few days after his promise, the Wa Municipal Assembly and the Upper West Regional Minister, hurriedly provided some desks for the school.

Dr. Bawumia subsequently received a lot of backlash from some political opponents who suggest his promise of furniture was to score cheap political points.

He has however maintained his stance and provided the school with 250 dual desks on Friday, March 4, 2016.

The presentation was done on his behalf by the NPP’s Parliamentary Candidate for the Wa Constituency, Issahaku Tahiru.
