Dr. Yankey at a press briefing at the Atuabo Gas Processing Facility at Atuabo noted that “we were to use 14 days. We later said 7 days but our engineers have been able to complete the planned maintenance work within five days. This means, …as we have resume, we are going to continue the supply of between 105 and 110 million standard cubic feet of Gas to the VRA for the production of some 650 megawatts of power”.
Dr. Sipa Yankey said that the earlier resumption of gas supply and the truncation of the duration of the planned maintenance works “were as a result of the fast spate with which the highly competent and skilled staff of Ghana Gas and its partners was able to undertake the maintenance processes.
“There was no shortcut. Our staff has been learning fast often. We have gone through all the necessary checks and there was no compromise. The projection was also done in the worst case scenario. We are assuring the good people of Ghana that, due diligence were done and the integrity of our facility is assured”. Dr. Yankey assured.
