One of the officers, Lance Corporal Kusi Abrokwah, was arrested earlier in a bush around Nkawkaw and handed over to police authorities nearby.

The Police in the Eastern Region have confirmed the arrest of the second suspect after a regional security council (REGSEC) meeting Thursday. His name was however withheld.

Three suspects including two police officers were arrested Tuesday night for attempting to rob a GCB Bank bullion van in the Eastern Region.

However, the trio escaped when the vehicle transferring them stopped to refill at a fuel station in Nkawkaw.

The incident led to the death of the driver of the van. Another police officer who was escorting the vehicle was also wounded in the attack.

The bullion van, however, had no money in it at the time of the attack.
