The Speaker of parliament, Edward Doe-Adjaho has expressed anger at the behaviour of Members of parliament during the 2016 State of the Nation Address.

President Mahama on Thursday told parliament about the successes his administration have chalked during his tenure.

He was intermittently heckled by members at both sides of the law making house during his address.

The minority went to the extent of waving red cards to show disapproval of his speech, whiles the Majority also waved white handkerchiefs to indicate otherwise.

The situation did not however go down well with the Speaker of Parliament, who was compelled to even rise during the address to call for order.

He has therefore warned parliamentarians to exercise decorum during ceremonial events.

"In fact for the first time I had to be on my feet; two times. Some waving white handkerchiefs, others using red cards...In ceremonial occasions which is not a party platform, it is a state event, where all the three arms of government are present and the diplomatic corps, we should devise a mechanism," he added.
