The Ghana Navy on Wednesday evening began a rescue operation to save over 100 passengers on a sinking ferry on the Volta Lake.
The ferry, which was on its way to Yeji began sinking an hour into the journey, as the load on the ferry appeared too heavy, Accra-based Joy FM reported.
The ferry was carrying about four loaded cargo trucks aside other passengers mainly market women.
