The Afro-pop star who is known in real life as Ahmed Mujahid Bello had a taste of hero's welcome after returning home with his 2017 Vodafone Ghana Music Awards' "Best New Artiste of the Year" accolade.

Huge number of fans and supporters came out of their homes to receive Fancy while tens of motorbikers give him a presidential ride.

He set the record at the 18th edition of the VGMA which took place at the Accra International Conference Centre on.

Fancy Gadam, whose impressive work in 2016 earned him a nomination in the "Best New Artiste" category beat a stiff competition from Medikal, Nii Funny, Article Wan, Feli Nuna, Ebony, Rudebwoy Ranking and Eugy to clinch the most prestigious award for newcomers.

Fancy Gadam rose to prominence last year after he reportedly filled the Tamale Sports Stadium for his concert and came to Accra to fill the National Theatre for another record concert.
