Daniel Obinim being one of such controversial pastors will hardly become unpopular as he always has bizarre things up his sleeves to unleash on Ghanaians year-in-year-out, and the year 2018 has not been an exception at all.
In no particular order, here are some weird things that made the founder and leader of the International God’s Way Church trend both on social media and in conventional media spaces within the year.
In October, a video filmed in his church showed a woman carrying Obinim at her back and dancing to music from the church’s band.
The whole antics was because, according to the woman, Obinim had been able to predict perfectly what her problem was.
At the beginning of the video, Obinim is heard telling the woman that he could see she wanted money to trade in wax prints.
Shocked by the ‘accurate prediction’, the woman said “daddy woy3 too much oo, mese wo ni size” which literally means ‘daddy you are too much, you have no size’.
She then rushed towards Obinim and turned her back for him and he gladly jumped on her back like a baby.
The funny act from the lady, who said she comes from Nkoransa in the Brong Ahafo Region, occurred at the Kumasi branch of Obinim’s church.
Earlier, in May, the controversial man of God was in the news for ordering a woman to carry a bag of cement in exchange for lotto numbers.

It was a punishment for the woman who had earlier refused lotto numbers from the Bishop who claimed he disguised himself and gave the woman the lotto numbers to stick, but she rejected it.
The woman, in the viral video, explained that she was angry because someone took her GHC10 that was why she turned down the numbers.
Obinim explained that the woman has been pestering her for lotto numbers for weeks and when he finally decided to give her the numbers, she rejected it.
Some Ghanaians blasted the man of God for subjecting the old woman to such torture, but interestingly she was later reported as telling them to mind their own business.
In September, Bishop Daniel Obinim aka Angel Obinimrevealed in an interview his personal relationship to the first humans ever created.
He maintained his stance on the matter and reconfirmed that he knows the first humans ever created, Adam and Eve. Even when the interviewer reiterated that they were talking about the first occupants of the Garden of Eden on live television, Angel Obinim said, “Jesus Christ has taken me into the spiritual, and said this is Adam, this is Eve, this is Abraham and this is Moses. I know them.”
In May, Pastor Obinim hit back at his critics who claim he is not a genuine man of God, saying both God and his son Jesus must be “fools” to have folded their hands and watched him mislead his congregants.
In a recorded sermon which went viral, Daniel Obinim said: “I always say that if I’m a fake pastor or I use juju to operate, then Jesus is a fool. Then that would mean Jesus is even more foolish than human beings. Because the number of people that come to me here in Ghana – look no prophet has more following than me!”
In February, Obinim was captured in another viral video trying to fly to heaven and his congregation members surrounded him and in a bid to restrain him from flying to heaven and leaving them on earth.
The bishop was seen flapping his hands as he shortly made for a crowd at top speed. The group of Christian worshippers waited at an end of the church as he flew towards their direction.
By now if you are still doubting Angel Obinim's comic self then this one may make you believe that this man will never stop blowing your minds.
In October this same year, the pastor claimed to be teaching his congregation how to dance. Guess what!

The dance involved taking a few steps backwards away from your dance partner then coming together to crotch bump aka 'atopa'. This involved both male and female irrespective of the sex of your dance partner.
Whether that kind of dance is acceptable in the sight of God, one cannot judge. Imagine a married woman or woman doing that kind of dance with another man or woman respectively.
Earlier in July, Daniel Obinim declared that he is no longer an angel of God as claimed in earlier sermons to his church members.
According to Obinim, he has now graduated from being an ordinary angel to Jesus Christ the saviour.
In another video, Obinim video claimed that he is now the real Jesus on earth.
The video is believed to have been recorded in Accra branch of his church, and in it, one of his members was spotted confronting Obinim saying, ”Angel, you lied to us. You are not an angel but rather Jesus Christ. “
However, Obinim after hearing his new ‘accolade’ from his member called on all his junior pastors to join him celebrate his new ‘Jesus’ title in front of the congregation.
Just as they were walking in front of the congregation, one of the pastors whom he [Obinim], referred to as Prophetess Leticia said, “Angel, I am seeing Jesus Christ. You are the one am looking at right now. You are the Jesus Christ of Nazareth.“
Again, in May, the controversial pastor was captured in a recent video angrily exchanging words with an invisible creature, he claimed to be his master in the heavenly realm.
Bishop Daniel Obinim spoke in a strange language in the presence of his Church members, during one of his Church services.
According to him, he was being interrogated and accused by the master for not ensuring that he and his partner, Angel Gabriel, did not properly execute their heavenly duties.
Explaining that it was no fault of his to his ‘master’ he said, “Father ask him, yes you can ask him Gabriel. Yes because I went there with Angel Gabriel. I went there with him.”
Obinim continued to speak in the ‘heavenly language’, as he claimed. This time in a more angry tone.
While translating the scenario to one of his interpreters, Obinim said his ‘boss’ in the spirit world has expressed displeasure because he expected him to do exceptionally well on one of the tasks with Angel Gabriel.

Daniel Obinim was insistent that what seemed to be a bad event was no fault of his since the one he sent refused to go on the mission and “now the blame has been put on me.”
“If not for my boss who says he has forgiven me, I would have had issues in the spiritual.”
However, he promised to take revenge since he is also an angel.
It was in that same May that Bishop Daniel Obinim claimed that he saved some Ghanaian pastors from being punished by two of his 'angels friends'.
A video showed saying two of 'angels' who are his 'friends' had wanted to punish the said pastors for talking evil about him (Obinim), but he had to beg on their behalves.
He told his congregation that he was going to a meeting with his angel friends, Nimokafrim and Ayɛtɛfrɛm, when they told him of their plans to punish the pastors. But he pleaded with Nimokafrim and Ayɛtɛfrɛm to abort their plans because he felt the other pastors were also training other people in the work of God.
Don't forget the famous Obinm stickers that went viral even beyond the borders of Ghana prompting a reaction from former British High commissioner to Ghana, Jon Benjamin.
Just as the pastor claimed the said sticker could do magical things, some Ghanaians claimed it actually worked for them. From better performance in bed to anything you can think of.
Some people also resorted to social media to give their testimonies.
