Mystery buyer of record breaking painting revealed

According to the New York Post , the buyer of the painting which recently sold at Christie’s is reportedly the newest art collection of billionaire and former Qatari Prime Minister, Hamad bin Jassim bin Jaber Al Thani.

On day of auction, the painting was sold to an anonymous buyer over the telephone, who was represented by Brett Gorvy, the auction house’s international head of contemporary art.

Reports also state that the painting will not go on public display in Qatar because of the nudity.
