Ho-based musician jailed 7 years for abduction and defilement
Godsway Dzandu, alias Armingo Marley was found guilty of the aforementioned charges by a Circuit Court in Ho on Monday.
Reports say the lesser-known musician pleaded not guilty to the charges, but the court presided over by Madam Priscilla Dikro found him guilty and sentenced him accordingly.
The Ghana News Agency reported prosecutor, Police Corporal Abigail Serwaa as having told the court that, in December 2018, the convict met his victim, a 13-year-old female JHS two pupil at the Ho Sports Stadium and proposed to her.
He proceeded to give his phone number to the victim and urged her to get in touch with him whenever she comes to town.
Indeed, the victim came to town and contacted the convict on January 05, 2019, and he directed her to his residence where he kept her until January 08.
The prosecution said investigations revealed that the convict had sexual intercourse with the victim twice within the period he kept her captive.
The victim upon her return home and interrogation, narrated her ordeal to her grandparents who double as her guardians, and they subsequently filed a complaint with the police, leading to the arrest of Godsway Dzandu, alias Armingo Marley.
