A student at the College of Wooster, Wooster, Ohio, United States, Rhishav Choudhury, has fallen to his death while hiking in Arizona on Wednesday.
Wooster's Dean of Students, Kurt Holmes, said the 22-year-old fell 100 feet and died while on a trip with 28 students, all members of the school's outdoor club WOODS.
A news release from the Yavapai County Sheriff's Office in Prescott, Ariz, stated that Choudhury wandered away from the group near West Clear Creek at about 6 p.m.
The students later began to search for Choudhury and found him dead.
He had fallen into a rocky area.
Unfortunately, the difficult terrain made it difficult for rescue services to reach him quickly.
By the time paramedics reached him around 8:30pm, he had died from his injuries.
Wooster spokesman, John Hopkins, said the tragedy is "heart-breaking."
"Our thoughts and prayers are with the young man's friends and family. It's a terrible tragedy," he said.
Choudhury majored in philosophy.
